everyone on this website has all these super informed opinions theyre really passionate about and im just over here like
Not really. Most of them are informed in the sense that Bill O’reilly is informed.
The Ψiioniic. The Ψ is pronounced psi, as you already know, making it Psionic, reader of minds.
If we’re corresponding to traditional runes, Celtic, the Ψ symbol isn’t pronounced. psi.
It’s pronounced th.
Hussie, I love you.
the lisp has a story the lisp has a story THE LITHP HATH A THTORY
This is in my Economics textbook
This is fucked up
if you couldn’t SEE how fucked up this is, let me put this into even more perspective for you.
a male with no high school education still makes more than a female with 9th-12th grade education (no diploma).
a male who is a high school graduate still makes more than a female with an associate’s degree.
a male with a bachelor’s degree only makes about ~$2000 less than a female with a fucking doctorate’s degree.
tell me again why feminism isn’t important.
I am personally offended to the highest degree
Not to mention that is information taken from a census in 2006, almost 8 years ago. Since then the Paycheck Fairness Act has been passed and several people have drawn attention to the accuracy of what can be generally summized from the census polls.
“A 2007 Consad Research Corporation study prepared for the Department of Labor cautioned against misinterpretation of census and other wage data, suggesting that the wage gap between the sexes was not due to systematic discrimination:
Although additional research in this area is clearly needed, this study leads to the unambiguous conclusion that the differences in the compensation of men and women are the result of a multitude of factors and that the raw wage gap should not be used as the basis to justify corrective action. Indeed, there may be nothing to correct. The differences in raw wages may be almost entirely the result of the individual choices being made by both male and female workers.
Similarly, Christina Hoff Sommers, a resident scholar at the conservative American Enterprise Institute, criticized the proposed law, citing the study conducted for the United States Department of Labor that showed that differences in pay between men and women are possibly due to “the result of the individual choices being made by both male and female workers” in which women take jobs that are more family-friendly in terms of benefits rather than wages and that women are more likely to take breaks in employment to care for children or parents.
Columnist Daniel Fisher criticized the legislation in Forbes magazine, pointing out that elimination of the “reason other than sex” defense that could be used by employers under existing law would mean that wage differences based on an individual’s salary history and negotiating skills would be treated as being evidence of discrimination, even if the employer’s actions were not based on gender. ” - wikipedia
Basically saying that a large part of the reason is not due to discrimination but due to individual choices that added up. For example, in that diagram it says education not “education in a specific field”, this could mean that a man who doctored in civil engineering made nearly $104,000 in income a year versus a woman who doctored in teaching and made roughly $67,000 in income a year. The type of degree does matter, and personal choices made do as well. A lot more so than gender discrimination.
An equivelant to this would be to say that the fact that there has yet to be a single female US president is proof of sexist discrimination. When this is actually more based on the amount of people running for the position. There has been a significantly lower amount of female canidates to run for president than male canidates. Not because women weren’t allowed to run until a short time ago, but because there have just been a smaller amount. For instance the first female canidate to run was 31 year old Victoria Woodhull who had run for president in 1870. Another factor to blame is the heavy implimentation of political parties in our politics. The 2 party system makes little room for 3rd party canidates and that plays a big role.
Now this isn’t to say that there isn’t sexism or gender inequality, or gender discrimination; there still is and it is still a problem. But there is just a lot less of it and it has less to do with wage differences between men and women than you might think.
I saw this on Facebook, though it was worth a share.
I came back from a hard walk down to the grass market to find that you had put cups of water all around my room, and writen on my door “revenge kenny” with tooth paste.
This was a mild inconvenience.
So upon finding this we at 18/3 started plotting on how to return the favour.
So i put it to you Chris.
I WANT TO PLAY A GAME.
As you can see from the following photo I have taken your door handle and the 4 screws to hold it ont the door.
I have also taken all the cups of water from my room and placed them outside your room, following this I took the water which we used to clean the tooth paste off my door and filled some of the cups with it.
In several of these cups are hidden the 4 screws.
My game to you is you must drink EVERY cup of water/toothpaste to then find the 4 screws. You may be thinking you can just empty them out and find the screws that way rather than drinking them. However unless you actually drink them ALL, I will not give you the clue as to where your door handle is hidden.
The choice is your Chris…
Stay locked out.
or drink it all.
Well that escalated.
- so i'm doing a little social network-y experiment which involves knowing the most popular (meaning most members in) the fandoms of different networks! so if you could reblog this by December 25th (christmas day) and add a tick mark next to the fandom you're in! if yours is not on the list please add it with a tick mark next to it indicating you're part of the one you've added! that's all and thank you so much!

A few months ago, physicist Harold White stunned the aeronautics world when he announced that he and his team at NASA had begun work on the development of a faster-than-light warp drive. His proposed design, an ingenious re-imagining of an Alcubierre Drive, may eventually result in an engine that can transport a spacecraft to the nearest star in a matter of weeks — and all without violating Einstein’s law of relativity.
HOLY SHIT WARP DRIVE IS PLAUSIBLE AGAIN
